N. gracilis may be found
in the lowland heath forest and peat swamps of Borneo,
Thailand, Sumatra, Sulawesi and Peninsular Malaysia. It
grows well in poor soils including areas of white sand
and sandstone from sea level to about 800m. The slender,
graceful pitchers and narrow toothed peristome make this
species easy to identify. Common colour forms include
green, dark red, pink and speckled. It is easy to
cultivate and an ideal terrarium plant since it is small
and can be easily pursuaded to produce multiple growing
tips and basal rosettes. |
