| N. inermis is
arguably one of the most visually appealing species, its
small but elegant vase-shaped pitchers have no peristome
and a very narrow lid. They inhabit the forest canopy
between 2300m and 2600m on the mountains of Central
Sumatra. The pitcher liquid is particularly viscous
compared to other species which may be to prevent pitcher
contents from being washed away in heavy rains. Lower
pitchers of this species have not been recorded to date.
Cultivation is reported to be very difficult. |
