N. edwardsiana  ssp. macrophylla, intermediate pitcher, in habitat   Nepenthes macrophylla
N. macrophylla is closely related to N. edwardsiana and is found only on the mossy ridges of Mt. Trus Madi in Sabah at an altitiude of between 2000m - 2600m. It is a most spectacular species with large tough pitchers and an impressive toothed peristome. Cultivation is moderately difficult and it is a slow growing species. Although not recommended for the novice, it is immensely rewarding if grown correctly.
